It wasn't one of my plans!
Do you live in Cainta, Rizal? Are you in a budget for a hair rebond with cellophane? Are you not mindful of a not-so-great ambiance inside a salon? Then probably this is for you.
I was just tired of my kinks so I had my hair rebonded again. It was unplanned so I just had a little over P1000 with me. I've been to this salon before (2011) and it was a good rebond, so I know I wouldn't be wasting my money.
I'm so sorry that I don't have BEFORE pictures. I can assure you that my hair is thick, resistant and curly.

I curled the ends on purpose because I don't want stick straight ends! It just makes my face bigger and my hair lacks body. |
The salon's name is Divine Magic Touch Salon. The exteriors are painted apple green and it's pretty easy to spot since it's right next to Cainta bridge (few meters from Greenland Subdivision, Cainta) and there's a tarpaulin outside with all the rates and services. Don't be fooled by it's seemingly not-so-chic exteriors and interiors. My hair rebond experience was good. My only complaint is that about 3x, the hot flat iron plate touched my scalp and it hurts, you know.

This is a must read. Come on, P1000 for a 7-hour rebond? Damn that's just a bargain. I gave the hairstylist a P200 tip though. There are only about 2 hairstylists inside. There's this nice woman in her 50's (I guess) who probably owns the place because she welcomes customers. There is NO RECEPTION AREA. When you enter, you'd see 3 salon chairs, big mirrors, an analog TV, a big speaker, an old radio, 2 electric fans, a stack of magazines, a bamboo bench and a few monobloc chairs. The interior wall paint need some fresh coat because some parts are blotchy and dirty. They only turn the aircon on when there's a customer (to save electricity). When they wash your hair, your hairstylist will escort you to a small chamber with 1 reclining salon chair and a wash basin for salons (how do you call that?) There they keep their salon products in a wall cabinet.
I got my hair rebonded from 12PM-7PM. My hair is about 3-5 inches beyond the bra-line. They're tuned into Channel 7 with higher-than-usual volume. If you're not a Kapuso fan (like me) then just busy yourself with something else. Bring your tablet, smartphone, books or those readings you need for school (I think listening to music isn't advisable because they put a protective object around your ears and you don't want those cables to be ironed.) Maybe they think I'm weird because I was the only one reading.
Don't appear as a snob! It's a very small salon and as expected, you may have househelpers (yaya) as fellow customers. Just be nice. My hairstylist was gay and we know there's nobody bitchy-er than gays. It can be overcrowded, too. If ever you'd decide to try it out and you are at the brink of exploding because you're not used to that kind of crowd, just close your eyes, take a deep breath and think of cute bunnies.
For the cellophane, they make you choose from about 20 colors. I chose light brown but I wish I chose something bolder, like something reddish.
I dyed my own hair last March 2013 so that color is old. As usual, they'd advice you not to wash your hair for 3 days and to use only conditioner for a week when washing it.
