I bought this because I liked the ingredients. Almost everything are extracts and there's only 1 kind of paraben which is methylparaben.
What: Face essence 30ml. Made in Taiwan. Expiration date printed.
Price: Normally P299 but I bought it on sale for P209.
Availability: Watson's
Ingredients:
What it says on the package:
Contains Vitamin C Glucoside. Certified whitening ingredient by the Taiwan Department of Health.
Improves Dullness. Brightness Up!
Highly concentrated essence with whitening complex combining Vitamin C Glucoside, Job's Tears and Rice bran extracts. Easily absorbed, it penetrated deep into the skin to help to fight against Melanin formation, improve skin texture and dullness, even out skin tone as well as prevent UV rays induced roughness and dark spots for clearer and whiter looking skin.
Deep Hydration
Long lasting moisturising complex contains Hyaluronic acid and Vitamin B to give deep hydration for supple, radiant looking skin.
refreshing and Non-Greasy
Light-weight texture is easily absorbed for optimum hydrating and whitening effects. Suitable for all skin types.
The pump applicator is hygienic and that's a pro. The texture is gel-like and is easily absorbed (or evaporated? lol). It has a soft lemon scent. Skin feels smooth after application. No greasy after-feel. Personally, I would top this with a face cream, serum or oil because it feels like I didn't put anything on. It's perfect for day use but it has no sunscreen so I wear it under my BB cream.
Unfortunately after less than a week of usage (2x a day), I started to break out. I don't know if it's because of this essence or not. I also don't know if breaking out is a good or bad thing; my face could have been irritated or it could be purging out toxins from my skin. Whatever it is, I stopped using this for up to now, apply clay mask, salicylic acid and emu oil until my skin is okay. Then I would start using this again ONLY on one region of my face for 1 week to see if this is really the culprit.
On the good side, I noticed that my face slightly became brighter. One afternoon as I was touching up my makeup in the rest room (as I do everyday), I noticed that I looked less dull and more vibrant even though I always sleep past midnight.
I'd update how my face get's along with Divinia Rice Whitening Essence.
*******UPDATE FEB. 2, 2013********
I've been using Divinia Rice Whitening Essence again and I didn't break out anymore. I apply it all over my face. For some reason, I got those tiny bumps. I'm sure they're not acne as they're not red, painful and swollen, but when I tried to use a pimple extractor (the curved side), some white substance came out. I don't want to give up on this just yet. Will update again!
*******UPDATE July 6, 2013********
I didn't develop any tiny bumps anymore. Also, I saw that Divinia Whitening Rice Essence only costs Php90 in Watson's! Wow that's a big price drop. Mine is almost empty but I'm not repurchasing just because it didn't really whiten my skin. It just made it brighter, like a looked less stressed. :)
